With an increased amount of Covid-19 vaccinations and loosened restrictions for many Americans, this summer will most definitely remind most what normal life is like.

A year ago, many were trying to figure out ways to have fun in the midst of a new virus. Golfing, picnics, and socially distanced outdoor get togethers were among the many ideas.

This is no more. Dr. Anthony Fauci stated at the end of April that he believes we will reach a turning point in the next few weeks. This could come in the form of lifted mask mandates and restrictions.

Fully vaccinated Americans can now go most places without a mask, unless required by private businesses. They also are no longer required to test if exposed to someone with the virus.

An open summer means more travel for many. Sophomore Daniel Dancuta says he is looking forward to going on vacation.

All of my grandparents are vaccinated, and now that I am too, I will be able to travel much more freely and make my summer feel way safer in general. I am traveling to Romania to visit my extended family,” says Dancuta.

Hopefully an eventful, safe summer will show many Americans that we are over the hump and the best is yet to come.
