Hot Start Leads McQuaid Past Wilson

Jermaine Taggart, ’20 throws down a dunk. He had 19 points.

The McQuaid Jesuit varsity basketball team earned win  on the season when they faced Wilson, Wednesday, Jan. 16.

The team has achieved their best start yet under coach Jack Leasure with a record of 9-3.

How It Happened:

  • McQuaid was led in scoring by Kobe Long, ‘20 who had 25 points. He made 3 three pointers, and got off to a hot start scoring 11 points in the first quarter.
  • Jermaine Taggart, ‘20 had 19 points, scoring 12 of the 19 in the first half.
  • Connor Zamiara, ‘19 scored 10 points, scoring 8 of the 10 in the second half.
  • Harry Bruu, ‘19 scored 6 points.
  • McQuaid allowed only 9 points in the first quarter.
  • McQuaid scored 41 points in the first half, and led by a score of 41-23.
  • Justus Ross-Simmons, ‘22 and Reuben Daniel, ‘20 each scored 4 points off the bench.

    McQuaid’s next game is Saturday, Jan. 26 against an undefeated East Eagles team.
