Five-Star basketball player and former McQuaid Jesuit student Isaiah Stewart will be heading to the west coast for college.

On Jan. 20, Stewart made his big commitment on ESPN after lowering his list to just five schools.  Isaiah announced that he will be heading west to the University of Washington.

“I’m really big on relationships.  Coach Hopkins has been one of the first coaches to recruit me when he was at Syracuse. When he left to coach at the University of Washington, he continued to show me love from thousands of miles away,” Stewart said.

Stewart is considered the No. 5 recruit in the 2019 class, weighing 245 pounds at a skyscraping 6 feet, 9 inches tall.

Isaiah chose the Washington Huskies from his final list of five schools, including Syracuse, Duke, Kentucky, and Michigan State.

“I believe joining Coach Hopkins and the Huskies will help me to be the best student athlete I can possibly be.  I’m proud to say I am committing there to help me chase my dreams,” Stewart said.

Right now Isaiah is continuing to dominate the floor for the La Lumiere Basketball Program. They are currently ranked number one in the nation with an undefeated record of 25 wins and zero losses.
