Hockey Knights off to Great Sectionals Start
The McQuaid Jesuit Varsity Hockey team is off to a great start at Sectionals, winning their first game 5-1 against Rush Henrietta on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Here’s how it happened:
• The action started quickly, with a goal five minutes in scored by sophomore Connor Fitzpatrick with an assist from senior Brady Fitzpatrick.
• Charlie Merkley, ’19, scored a power play goal with an assist from Brady Fitzpatrick.
• Jeevan Deol, ’19, had a goal called off by the referee who ruled that it was kicked in.
• Tim Brown, ’19, scored the last goal of the first period with the assists from Guiseppe Fiorillo, ’21, and Connor Fitzpatrick.
• T.J. Catanese of Rush Henrietta scored the only goal in the 2nd period unassisted.
• Zach Lee started off the third period with a goal assisted by Fiorillo.
• Deol scored the last goal of the game unassisted.
McQuaid’s next game is scheduled for Feb. 21.
