During the 1960s the United States saw a massive sexual revolution and during this time we saw the creation of birth control pills, rise of liberalism, and the de-emphasis of religious values. This is where conservative America began to die.

The creation of “the pill” created a feeling of freedom regarding sexual intercourse. Both men and women felt liberated, women especially.  Women now thought that if there was a pill to control their sexual reproductive organs, then they were not restricted by consequences of sex, such as pregnancy.

Nathaniel Abbott, a political YouTuber, believes that the US started to see a decline in moral values with the creation of this pill.

“You could pinpoint the creation of the birth control pill in the 1960s as where the decline really started. So once we lost or were able to sterilize the life creating act we disconnected the act from its consequences and therefore we lost the mortality associated with it,” said Abbott.

He continued to say that with this pill we started to decline as a whole: “So in the 1960s we began to lose our sexual morality and from there we lost everything else.”

As this continued, America saw an increase in people’s self-indulgent behavior as they sought “cheap fun” through sex, drugs, and other hedonistic pleasures. However, these acts are very antithetical to religion.

The U.S. also saw an increase in the popularity of liberalism. The idea of liberalism sought to challenge and even dismantle societal “norms.” It also promoted the destruction of the traditional societal hierarchy and encourage people to self-liberate.

People believed religion as too much of a restriction on them so they did everything in their power to distance themselves and others.

However, without the idea of religion, a nation cannot stand. With religion, we see things that help to structure our life and help set moral standards for society. This being said, if a country does not have religion, it has no moral compass to guide itself.

Without religion a country cannot stand for it has no guidance and morals to structure itself on.
