Five-Star Center Isaiah Stewart to Commit Soon

Former McQuaid Student-athlete Isaiah Stewart plays for team USA in Argentina.

As Former McQuaid student-athlete and current 5-star recruit Isaiah Stewart approaches his senior season, he will be announcing his big college commitment in his hometown. He currently attends the prep school La Lumiere in La porte, Indiana.

ESPN currently ranks Isaiah Stewart 5 out of 5 stars.  The buzz on his commitment continues to grow as his senior year is coming to an end. Isaiah had 45 college offers before he cut his list down to just five. Duke, Michigan State, Kentucky, Syracuse and Washington all have a chance to snag the top recruit in the 2019 Class.

“Wherever he decides to go, it will be based on what team feels the most like family to him and gives him an opportunity to grow as a player and get to the next level. As great as it would be to play with him again at Syracuse, I’m happy for him no matter what.” said current Syracuse basketball player Buddy Boeheim.

His close friends know him best and know Isaiah will choose wisely to help him better his future.

“Yes, this will be a tough decision, but he’s probably made tougher decisions. Trust me,” McQuaid alumnus Divine Williams,’18 said.

Even though Isaiah has moved on. His time spent at McQuaid is still meaningful to him.

“It showed me that education is just as important as basketball. McQuaid showed me how to be a role model and a fine young man,” Stewart said.

Stewart has overcome many challenges within his life, yet he has also accomplished many achievements. Recently Isaiah made more of a name for himself by dominating for Team USA basketball in the U17 World Cup Men’s Tournament.

“If I knew where I was going for college, I’d go there right now. I’d tell the world right now where I’d be committing to. Unfortunately, I’m still looking into my top five schools more and more everyday to learn which one will help me best in my future,” Isaiah said.

As it stands, this may be a late decision for Isaiah Stewart, but his talent will translate well to the right college for him.
