An overhead shot of the year’s second Agape Latte event. Students listened and learned from Mr. Dan Brady.

The year’s second Agape Latte speech encouraged students to recognize how God is present in their everyday lives. On Dec. 11, math teacher Mr. Dan Brady shared his life story.

Following Italian teacher Mrs. Alba Lupia a month earlier, Mr. Brady attempted to create the same impact.

Mr. Brady shared compelling stories about tragedies in his life that grabbed the attention of an audience of over 100 students, faculty, and staff. He shared throughout his speech how these difficult events have shaped who is as a good and faith-based person.

Mr. Brady explained how God is equally present in good and bad times, and how one decision can change your life.

“I saw a flyer for a CYO coaching job,” Mr. Brady said.

This seemingly unimportant moment changed who he was as a person, and created a new mentality for all of the things he then went on to complete in his life.

Mr. Brady concluded his speech with a very strong quote from the ending of the play Les Misérables: “To love another person is to see the face of God.”

Mr. Brady hit home on his concluding statement, powerfully impacting the minds of listeners to truly buy into such a profound statement.

Mr. Brady’s talk was extremely well received by those in attendance.

“I thought it was very moving, and I like how he tied in his life experiences with how his faith got him through his life,” junior Carl Luther said.

Mr. Brady’s words and stories also went on to inspire the minds of his fellow faculty members.

“I enjoyed hearing about his personal journey and what led him to McQuaid. It’s always touching to hear someone be open about emotional moments in their past,” math teacher Mrs. Colleen King said.

Agape Latte was yet another success.  The next speaker will presumably be in the month of January. Let Mr. Brady’s message go on to inspire those who were touched by it, and let it impact the decisions they make in their everyday lives.
